Our Approach

We emphasize local actions and Solutions-We coordinate with field volunteers and staff offices in target areas in order to ensure immediate oversight, logistical support and staff roles and responsibilities. Majority SOYVA’s staffs are from local communities in the areas of operation, which lends significant cultural, linguistic, political and operational skills to every program and humanitarian response we undertake. We also take a leading role in helping communities prepare for and mitigate the effects of disasters.
WE FOCUS ON WOMEN, GIRLS, BOYS AND VULNERABLE PEOPLE- SOYVA recognizes that, in the violence context of Somalia, Vulnerable communities, women and young boys have magnified vulnerabilities and little power in decision making. Their specific needs and aspirations have often been overlooked or neglected in the recovery process of peace building and reestablishing As a result, we give priority attention to analyzing their special needs and ensuring that specific issues connected to their livelihood recovery and violence such as SGBV affecting them are addressed.
WE MONITOR, EVALUATE AND MEASURE PROGRAM IMPACT– Our program and humanitarian imperative is not only to help vulnerable people and communities, but also to keep improving the ways we serve them. SOYVA achieves this goal through robust monitoring and evaluation strategies and practices, which are at the very root of our organizational culture. Our monitoring and evaluation strategy is designed to not only assess impact and provide continuous program improvement, but also provide accountability and transparency to donors who’ve invested in our work.
WE STRIVE TO BE LEADER IN LOCAL PEACE BUILDING AND STATE BUILDING EFFORTS AS WELL EMERGENCY HUMANITARIAN RESPOSNSE– SOYVA is at the forefront of efforts to improve the security, reconciliation and democratization efforts in Somalia. We lead a consortium of six local actors in South West State of Somalia working to streamline peace process and democratization of post-civil war Somalia and stabilize livelihood and economic recover
