Somali Youth Volunteers Association (SOYVA) is a local civil society organization that was established in May, 2010 and operates mainly in South and Central Somalia especially South West State, Galmudug State, Puntland State, Hirshabelle, Gedo region of Jubaland and Banadir Regional Administration of Somalia. It is non-religious, non-profit, non-political, non-ethnic, independent organization established to promote universal, affordable and sustainable access to water, sanitation, hygiene, health, education and livelihood. SOYVA also seeks to promote Youth economic empowerment, Livelihood resilience of young people and vulnerable communities, refugee communities and other marginalized groups, participatory democracy, human rights culture, good governance, gender equality, as well as Youth and women inclusion in state building, security and peace process in Somalia. SOYVA’s strategic focus is on making progress towards peace and meeting Communities’ humanitarian and recovery needs by addressing youth and armed violence, gender-based violence issues, boosting access to social services, economic and social development and resilience livelihood programs. Our programme priorities are aligned with the peacebuilding and state building goals (PSG), Human Rights and priorities stipulated in the Somali Compact which include inclusive politics, good governance, security, justice, climate change, economic foundation of revenue and services.
